The Story
Betsy's Little Treat.
The BLT was created by Betsy Bulleit — partner, muse, and better half of Tom Bulleit. As Tom revived his great-grandfather's bourbon recipe, Betsy mixed a cocktail he could serve at seemingly endless meetings and parties.
The response, in chorus, was always the same: "This is delicious and refreshing."
She called it Betsy's Little Treat. The initials also stood for its three ingredients — bourbon, lemon, tonic. Decades later, that cocktail is finally in a can.
